Holiday weekend = boring "best of..." shows

A Talk Radio Fan emailed me and asked if I ever finished the portraits I was doing of hosts. I almost forgot about them. I have three almost done. I'm gonna pull them out this weekend and try to finish them. If I like them I'll post them after the holiday.

I am suspecting that this weekend will showcase a bunch "Best of..." shows on most Talk Radio stations.

Daily listening: Glenn Beck (WAEB 10 - 12), Rush Limbaugh (WABC / WAEB 12 - 3), Sean Hannity (WABC / WAEB (3 - whenever), Friday nights: The Right Perspective (shortwave 10 - )

New Talk Radio sites

As I get back into the swing of things in the world of Talk Radio I am finding new Talk Radio-related websites of great interest. Check them out:
www.TalkJunkie.com
www.TalkRadioNation.com
One of these sites had me listed in their links section so that was very cool.

I was surprised to hear Mark Simone filling in for Andrew Wilkow today on WABC. It was a good surprise though.

Are there any website designers that would be willing to help set up TalkRadioFan.com? I own the domain name and have a nice banner designed but I don't know how to design a site. I want something similar to this blog. Please contact me if you're interested.

Blander than cheap white bread...

Last night on The Right Perspective, the host called Curtis Sliwa a "schmuck."

At the end of Mark Simone's show this morning on WABC he dug into American Idol for a few minutes and I was laughing out loud as I tried to write down some quotes:
About Idol host Ryan Seacrest: "(He) makes John Kerry seem personable."
About the show in general: "Why all the singing? Just have them come out and have Simon Cowell make fun of them."

I've been trying to tell people the same thing about Ryan Seacrest for a long time. I am sure he's a really swell guy but the dude is blander than cheap white bread. He has no personality. he's boring to look at and what's the deal with Don Johnson-like five-day stubble that never seems to grow? American Idol is the hottest show on TV, why was Seacrest chosen to host it? I listened to his Top 40 radio show and the commercials were more interesting to listen to than anything that Seacrest said.

So...it's Larry Kudlow on WABC until noon, then Monica Crowley for the first part of the afternoon...

Glenn Beck TV show

I watched the Glenn Beck Show on CNN last night. You know the band that sounds kind of punk that does a little song for his radio show? He should get them to be the band for his TV show to add a little spice to it. I realize that this would suck a lot of money out of the show's budget but it really seems like the show needs another flesh and blood person on the set. The show was not that bad though. The set is fantastic and there was nothing cheesy that I could point out in the entire program. On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd give it a 7. I've only seen one show so far though.... I definitely want to see him on his "Mid-Life Crisis Tour."

Hello, Talk Radio Fans...

On Friday night I listened to a great Talk Radio show that is broadcast on the internet as well as on shortwave - The Right Perspective (http://therightperspectivepodcastblog.blogspot.com). The show was terrific.

To show you how out of touch I've been with the world of Talk Radio, I found out on Friday that Glenn Beck has a TV show. I'll try to watch it this week. The only radio shows that I've been listening to on a somewhat consistent basis are Rush Limbaugh, Andrew Wilkow and now The Right Perspective.

I am sure as the summer heats up I'll be listening to more Talk Radio. Each year I usually drift away from it for a few months since I get burned out on it.

My other website is: www.ChrisFrancz.com. Please stop by for a visit.

For true Talk Radio Fans...

NYC's most dangerous callers to talk radio, Frank from Queens and John of Staten Island, now have their own radio show, taking your phone calls and discussing issues from "The Right Perspective"! Live broadcast heard over shortwave radio station WWCR 3.215 MHz and the Internet every Friday night 10pm EST. http://therightperspectivepodcastblog.blogspot.com/

I remember listening to Howard Stern in 1985 when he was on a local AM station in NYC. Look at how he blew up. The same thing may happen with these guys so check them out today so you can tell people in 20 years how you listened to Frank and John "way back when."

Amnesty for all bank robbers...

Check out Radio Equalizer: http://radioequalizer.blogspot.com. Recently a local woman stated that there were so many illegal aliens in America because it takes so much time for them to get full citizenship implying that the illegals don't want to have to wait so they choose to remain illegal. Let me use that same rational for people robbing banks: It should be legal for people to rob banks since earning money takes so much time. Across the board amnesty should be granted to all bank robbers. Thank you, Chris Francz / Talk Radio Fan

Say it: ILL...E...GAL im...mig...rant...

Andrew Wilkow is one of the few hosts that keep my interest these days. He's a real pitbull behind the mic and pulls no punches. And what is it with all these stupid protests over "immigrant rights"? No immigrants are being treated unfairly. ILLEGAL immigrants are the issue. If you want to become an American citizen and reap all of the benefits thereof, go about getting your citizenry in the proper fashion. That's not what these people want though. When my father's family came to this country in the 1950's they became citizens in a by-the-book manner. They didn't sneak in and sign up for a bunch of benefits and freeload off the back of the American taxpayer.
