Interview with TalkRadioForums.com
Interview with the Administrator or Talk Radio Forums.com A brand new website where talk radio fans can engage in discussions about their favorite or least favorite Talk Radio hosts and programs.First, could you give me your name or some way to introduce you and maybe the region of the country that you are from? I can understand if you don't want to mention a city...
Sure. My name is Rick and I'm from central Canada.
How long have you been interested in Talk Radio? What made you first start listening?
I've been listening to talk radio on a semi-regular basis for about seven years when I first heard about Coast to Coast AM and stayed up all night to hear what all the fuss was about. Years later, I found myself turning on the radio just to hear what was on, mainly in the mornings for the local shows.
What brought you to the point where you wanted to start TalkRadioForums.com? Are you working on it alone?
I decided to start TalkRadioForums.com because I noticed that there was a lack of places to discuss a variety of talk radio shows as opposed to just one or a select few. I also wanted the forums to be friendly, have a sense of humor and not degrade into petty off-topic political arguments. Just somewhere where people can come together and debate, review, laugh at or laugh with whatever they've heard on talk radio programs of all sorts. At the moment I am working on it alone.
What are your daily Talk Radio listening habits?
It varies from day-to-day. It depends what mood I'm in.
Which shows / hosts are your favorites?"
Coast to Coast AM" was the one that got me started and remains a favorite although I don't listen to it as often as I used to. I also listen to Charles Adler and have for several years. More recently, I've been tuning in to different US stations online or trying to pick them up at night to listen to Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, Phil Hendrie and Glenn Beck.
What do you think the future holds for Talk Radio?
It remains to be seen. I think there'll be a lot more "do-it-yourself" shows that will be available through streaming or podcasting where the most talented might be noticed by syndicators and given airtime on terrestrial or satellite radio. I also think that more programs will be made exclusive to either local or satellite radio, since one will be trying to one-up the other. The influence of satellite radio in particular might force more local stations to rely more on local hosts. As for where I live, I hope we'll see more creative programs and more of the best hosts going national. I admire the choice you have in the U.S. when it comes to people who want to debate national issues. We don't really have that here.
How did you ever find my Talk Radio Fan blog anyway?
Through a Google search for "talk radio fan".Join in the conversations today! www.TalkRadioForums.com
Since it's my job to browse the websites of Talk Radio Hosts - I was just checking out G. Gordon Liddy's site. Check out the "Stacked and Packed" 2006 calendar girl slideshow 0n his site (no intense navigation needed). I wonder if these girls are really pro-2nd ammendent. www.LiddyShow.us
And if that was not "sexist" enough, check out Phil Hendrie's "Wall of Female Listeners" http://www.philhendrieshow.com/scrapbook/female_listeners.html
What a surprise - last night I found Mark Simone filling in for Brian Whitman on WABC. Sweet.

Thanks for the welcome
Christmas Day falls on December 25. It is preceded by Christmas Eve on December 24, and in some countries is followed by Boxing Day on December 26. Some Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7, which corresponds to December 25 on the Julian calendar. December 25 as a birthdate for Jesus is merely traditional, and is not thought to be his actual date of birth.Bye
